What does the service offer?

Rising Sun provides domestic‑abuse‑specific therapeutic support for children and young people. This may include mentoring, counselling or art therapy. The service helps young people understand and manage the impact of domestic abuse and supports their emotional recovery.

How can it help?

It supports children and young people who may be experiencing anxiety, low self‑esteem, trauma‑related behaviours, difficulties at school or challenges forming safe and healthy relationships because of their experiences. The service helps them feel safer, more confident and better able to cope.

Who is it for?

Children and young people aged 5–18 who have been affected by domestic abuse.

How is it delivered?

  • Predominantly face‑to‑face, with online sessions available if preferred
  • One‑to‑one or group support (mostly one‑to‑one)
  • Typical Duration: 12 weeks
  • Geographical Areas: Canterbury, Ashford, Folkestone & Hythe
